How To Have Stress-free Newborn Photos With A Toddler

Feed the Children Before the Shoot
(But Not Wearing Their Photoshoot Clothing!)
We all get hangry sometimes and it is no surprise when toddlers and babies melt down when a photo shoot starts if they are hungry. Give them a light snack if it is between meals or a full meal if it is the normal time for to eat one prior to the shoot.
Breastfeed newborns right before photographer arrives, but after changing into their photo outfit, so they are in the milk-coma state for the peaceful, sleepy photos.
The way to a happy session is through a full stomach! :)
Timing is perfection
Time the shoot around nap time; either before or after or two hours before bedtime if possible. Most family shoots are best right after dinner in the evening before bedtime or two hours before or soon after an afternoon nap.
For indoor newborns sessions, the warmer the room the better. The womb was like a sauna for your baby and the warmth of a room evokes the feelings of the womb.
The sleepiest newborn photos occur when the baby is between five to 14 days old; that is the most ideal time for a newborn shoot, though better late than never.

Little children are meant to explore. They are curious creatures! Allow them to run, pick up things like rocks, and act silly. These photos will be more natural and you will love them because they are acting like themselves. When they are themselves, you will also feel relaxed. The mother's feelings are the barometer of a home and this also includes a photo shoot.
We will have fun parachuting, butterfly kissing, running, spinning, hugging. I will help you be the ring leader in your family circus and will refocus the shoot as necessary for the needs and comfort of your family.
No need to teach them to respond to "Say cheese!" all the time. We will make the session fun for them. The best photos are interactive and happy; being. yourselves together.
preparation
Together we will work with outfit coordination, location choices, helping your littles enjoy the photographing process, and so much more. Your session should be stress free and enjoyable as possible. Be sure to take care of yourself...
Get up a bit earlier to enjoy your coffee in silence.
Take a hot bath to relax yourself and sleep deeply the night before.
Have all the shoes and socks out the night before that match the outfits.
Put on some happy music as you get dressed and in the drive to the shoot.
Bring candy to reward your toddler with good behavior.
Know that attitudes before the shoot will affect the feelings during the shoot.
